“The word is improved communication, ones want to feel more involved in the decision making process”
Full blessings to all members worldwide. I give thanks and it is an honour for me to be elected to the office of International Organiser. On coming into office I find most if not all locals are not in good working order. In communicating with a number of Locals and members. the word is improved communication, ones want to feel more involved in the decision making process.
For me it is important to develop Locals to function and operate constitutionally to; tag isolated members around the world to active Locals or set up units. It is very important we develop a spirit of ONE NATION Locals are the way to organise groups in the local areas but we must recognise that this is one organisation with one legal identity.

Greetings and Salutations to all Members Worldwide.
It is a pleasure and a joy to have this opportunity to address the viewing audience once again, and to have this forum of communication as a medium. Give thanks for our faithful Sister Malieka, who has maintained despite all odds and given the best. We have been motivated by her dedication and fortitude to continue the process.
Let us all take a page out of her book of bringing something to the table. At this time I would like to urge all Chaplains to activate their Complaints and Grievances Committee as well as Sick Committee in all locals so that we may start to rid this precious organization of some of the many ills that are totally holding us down as well as causing the organization not to have the attractiveness of drawing the conscious ones into the forefront so that we can move forward for the future.

A 25th Anniversary Event and Rastafari Awareness Day was held at the prestigious South Birmingham College Media Education and Training centre; Birmingham UK on 1st March 2008.
As well as bringing awareness of the Rastafari Culture to the wider community we were also celebrating over twenty- five years as an active local of the Ethiopian World Federation Incorporated. The day was extremely well attended with a large number of cultural stalls selling a variety of products and promoting various projects.
There was also a good quality and range of vegetarian foods and various natural and healthy juices. Compare for the show and stage coordinator was Mikael (Wassifa) Brown, of Galaxy FM radio who is also a member of the Federation. Also acting compare was Michael Mosiah from Sting FM pirate radio Jacko Melody.

Of ancient manuscripts containing the history and culture of AXUM – Ethiopia, we can refer you to 1000 manuscripts in the Bibliotheca National in Paris, France. There are over 900 manuscripts in the Vatican and Italy.
The Magdala Collection of manuscripts, looted from Magdala by the British Army on 13 April 1868, is the current subject of another campaign. On this subject the British Government states “Only the Ethiopian Government can claim…”
We are advised the Ethiopian Federal Presidency have this matter under consideration, current valuation of 3 Billion Sterling is under audit.
The focus of this paper is the American collection of AXUM manuscripts, 400 in number taken at the time of the German 1906 expedition to Axum. Today with the new realities of life, we give thanks to the American Public and Congress, for funding our “Discovering Ras Tafari Exhibition at the Smithsonian” and this window to explore in full the 400 AXUM manuscripts, in America today.

Convention 2008: Hailed a success[/caption]
The Ethiopian World Federation Incorporated Convention for 2008 took place in Shashamane, Ethiopia from 15th to 21st July 2008.
The Locals present were London (Local 3); Shashamane (Local 14); Milwaukee (Local 20); Bronx (Local 27); Birmingham (Local 111); Paris and Toulouse. There were two delegates from Local 3, two delegates from Local 111 and one delegate from Local 14. As well as the observers present, a number of members in the USA took part via teleconferencing.
Trevor Clarke was Chair, Pauline Anderson was the Parliamentarian and Malieka Robinson was Convention Secretary. Officiating Committees included Programmes, Resolution, Nominations, Credential and Standing Rules.
Outgoing officer reports were presented by the International President (Emma Young); Executive Secretary (Lawrence Davies); 2nd Vice President (Pauline Anderson); International Organiser (Ivory Black). Malieka Robinson presented the Convention Arrangements Report.
An NGO report was presented by Brother Moody (EWF Inc Country Representative) and a Shashamane Land Grant report which was presented by Solomon Wolf. All reports were followed by a Question & Answer session.

“We have all the talents amongst us that we need to accomplish any aims, goals and objectives”
In observance of our Traditional Holiday’s, we are looking forward for all Local Chaplains and Members to take heed and do not let any of our Divine Heritage days pass by without taking time and pleasure in researching and applying our best efforts possible in the celebrations.In the past two and half months it has been brought to our attention that the lack of determination and motivation seems to be an absent agent, in the midst of the turmoil that have plagued our organization for much too long.
We must find a way to pass through the needle eye and meet the resistance of economic and social differences that are still a constant reminder of the times that we are living in. We have all of the talents amongst us that we need to accomplish any aims, goals and objectives as prescribed by our constitution and by-laws.With the future being bright and illuminated into the solution patterns, let us not loose focus on the prize. Our youth and the generations not yet born are counting on us for guidance and directions as certain parts of the cultural exchange rest solely on our shoulders, so we must take the baton firmly, so that we will pass it on with much confidence and grace.

A group of six official women of the Birmingham local 111: security, treasurer, recording secretary, 2 administrators, information /publicity and two children age 3 and 4 years travelled to Kenya from Dec 1985 to May 1986.
The aim was to research and gather facts on Kenya’s inhabitants, lifestyle, money, dress and different cultures etc.
The women themselves and The Commonwealth Exchange funded this mission.
The President and 1st Vice visited Kenya during the above mission to examine security issues.

A Protest March was organized by the local at Royal Court Theatre. Sloane Square, London, against the incorrect depiction of H.I.M Haile Selassie I in the play called ‘The Emperor.’
This protest successfully stopped the play from been repeated.
